Carlow Institute of Technology are looking for Actors Male/female for a comedy series 'Dating Dave'. There will be 4 episodes & great to add to a showreel.
Synopsis
Dave a failed musican walks in on his girlfriend SARAH of 8 years with his father CARL. Following this he moves in with his gay friend SIMON & flatmate RACHEL after a lot of moping over loosing the love of his life Simon sets up a dating profile for Dave. Through hilarious events Dave goes on many disastrous dates. RAYMONA the transvestite. BRENDA the Pregnant Lady & Dymphna a control freak & phyco.

We are looking for the following people to act
DAVE:22- 30 years old male, failed musican , heartbroken
SARAH : 18-30 tall , blonde , model looks
CARL: 35-50 Daves father
RACHEL : 20-30quirky, artist , pretty
BRENDA: 18-30 brown hair , rough looking, young looking
DYMPHNA: 18-30 short, plain, phyco
This production will be great fun & anyone involved will get a copy of the series to add for showreels

Film & Media Students from St Kevin's College, Crumlin are currently casting for a female lead for the short film 'Virtual Insanity'

Virtual Insanity – Reality Is Not Always What It Seems

'Virtual Insanity' is a drama with a twist. The film is about a girl called Chloe- she is obsessed with Social Networking and all things online. The film follows her over the course of a typical day & we explore just how deeply she is entangled in her her 'virtual world'!
This film will explore & challenge peoples perception of the power of social networking & living a life online.....

We urgently need the following;

Female Lead- 18- 27 years old
Extras- Both Male & Female- under 35 years old

Requirements

Female Lead- The suitable actress should ideally be bright, bubbly, confident, outgoing, comfortable in her skin and able convey emotion through expression as opposed to dialogue.

Extras- We are also looking for both male & female extras for this film- please put “EXTRAS” in subject of email if you are applying for this. role

Auditions are being held on Wednesday 8th of February in St Kevins College, Clogher Road, Crumlin.

Crew & resources needed for action/comedy short film in Wexford.

No fee but DVD offered of finished product and it will be entered into all festivals and online showcases etc. at home and abroad that it is eligible for.

1. Sound recording equipment and operator(s)
2. Editing suite and editing experience. Seeking better than consumer spec if possible.
3. DP/cameraman with some experience (note also: movie being shot on Canon XM2 video camera but interested in two-camera setup if a second camera is available as long as exposure etc. can be matched in editing with Canon XM2).
4. Video lighting equipment.
5. Make up, wigs and wardrobe to achieve the following:
Central character: College girl, first year, fresh as a daisy.
Two old codgers: Actors of potentially mid 30’s to 50’s range required to look older, borderline disreputable, old coats etc. Hair, clothes and make-up for these two to assist comedic tone.
Pizza delivery boy: 21 yrs old. Classic local pizza delivery looks and style.

This is a casting call for four actors for a short film entitled, Preconceptions. I expect to shoot this ten minute story in late February or early March and it will be shot over two weekends. Given the nature of the script there will be several rehearsal sessions required. Regretfully, it is an unpaid gig but I will cover all expenses, food and travel. A copy of the completed project will also be provided. Some crew are in place.

Synopsis
A tramp is shown a small act of kindness by a girl. He gets to repay her kindness and in so doing, her friend learns it not always right to judge a book by it’s cover.

Roles
The Tramp. Age range 40-50. He is a melancholy character who pines for a girl in a photograph. He fell on hard times many years ago as a result of his alcoholism and this was followed by a ruined marriage. He drinks to forget and then to remember.

Ron. Playing age 18ish. An arrogant rugger-bugger type. He was seeing Emma and isn’t too happy to find out she appears to have been seeing someone else.

Emma. Playing age 17-18. A fun loving, generous schoolgirl with a heart of gold. She sees only the good in people and would give someone her last fiver. She is very easily led by her best friend Jenny.

Jenny. Playing age 17-18. Emma’s best friend is a motor mouth. She is a total snob and very quick to judge people.

The person cast for Jenny must have a full drivers license as driving is required in the script.

Need Female Actor 25 - 35 - Crime drama in the cinema verite style (closing 17/02/2012)

The film is a cinema verit� piece shot in a sprawling council estate in Dublin West. The film starts in a mundane manner with a child being sent on an errand. On this journey however a random act of violence occurs that that will have a telling effect on the child and the final climax of the film itself.

The film will be shot in one continuous take. Stylistically it follows in the tradition of films like La Haine by Mathieu Kassovitz and Fish Tank by Andrea Arnold.

I am looking for an actor to play the role of the mother to the young protagonist. It is a sense of realism that I'm really looking for as well as the ability to deliver lines with emotion and intimacy.

The young mother is a working class housewife 25 - 35. She would display a slightly world weary facade. Sincerity and confidence would be her key traits.

Bel Air Productions is a student based production currently looking for an actor to undertake a competitive short for dare2bdrinkaware.ie.

As this is a student based production, we will be unable to provide payment but food and expenses will be provided.

You will be required for shooting anytime during February for 1 -2 days. We believe this could be a great opportunity to expand your portfolio.

The role will require the actor to act in a sense with himself playing two seperate roles e.g (twins). The actor will be shot in front of a green screen and require to act with an imaginary character but when edited will be himself in a different role.

Character: Young drug dealer from Dublin West (18-25)

Short film 'One Shot', filmed in one long take run time approx 9 mins. A black and white cinema verite piece very much in the style of La Haine by Mathieu Kassovitz and Andrea Arnold's Fish Tank.

Actor will play a young drug dealer who is assassinated by a rival gang. A decent amount of dialogue. Actor needs to be able to deliver lines dynamically with authenticity and realism.

Shooting will commence 10 and 11 of March. However rehearsals will be needed so flexibility and above all reliability is essential.

Looking for a female actor, mid-late 20's for a student film being shot in Dublin. The working title for the production is "Off The Rails" and deals with loneliness and isolation. The shoot will take place over a single day in a Dublin pub.

The Role:

BECCA : Student, Shy, Nervous, Loyal. Kind hearted but has become cynical due to her current situation.

This is a no-budget production and, therefore, the role is unpaid. There will, however, be lunch provided and refreshments throughout the day.
